Attempting to quit noids. Withdrawals suck major- does anyone have any tips?
I’ve been using the “not solid”gold brand
until the formula changed and soon found out about the “Tennessee trail” (not
actual name) and have used about $1000 worth of it over the past 6 months. I am
so tired of this life of constantly isolating myself hitting a vape and
thinking about when the next time I’ll hit it will be. At First it was only
Friday nights and the weekends then it moved to after work then every day even
at work walking out to my car to hit my vape. Last night I went cold turkey and
maybe got 45 minutes of cumulative sleep thanks to 20mg of melatonin. Does
anyone have any tips on how to make the process a little smoother? Right now
the only thing getting me through the WD symptoms and tossing and turning at
night is the thought of not craving this shit physically anymore and sobriety
at the end of this tunnel.
Wish I would have never started. There has
been times where I would go through 15ml in a 24 hour time span and it truly is
shameful that I never realized how big of an addiction I had to this shit until
I actually wanted to stop. Now I’m realizing I really have just been isolating
myself and this substance has become my only hobby. Would love to hear some
success stories of people making it through to the end of the WD tunnel and
back into a regular mindset not occluded by synthetic cannabis.
Kratom, if it's legal or obtainable where
you live. Does wonders for pain, withdrawals, and will keep you relaxed.
Edit: not the capsules, just straight
powder. Capsules are useless.
The military drug tests for kratom
Damn, that sucks. Good thing is it doesn't
take long to get over the withdrawals. 2-3 days tops.
2-3 days tops? That’s a relief. On day 2
right now.
I took 20mg melatonin last night and a shot
of zzzquil and surprisingly I managed to get some sleep, which makes me pretty
happy as it was much needed
Don't expect to be fully over WD's in 2-3
days. Just being honest with you. It could be weeks. It depends on how long you
used, how often and what noid. You won't be sleeping well for a while,
especially without some kind of aid.
I mean I'm not for certain, it affects
everyone different but for me I was a heavy daily user and still go back to it
every now and then because I've trained myself not to get dependant on it but
once you get past the guess few sleepless nights you'll be fine. Oh yeah, and
try only taking 5mg, melatonin is a less is more kind of thing in my
experience.
Okay will try it. I only have 10mg capsules
but I will try just one. Not trying to get dependent on sleeping meds but I
feel it is necessary for the time being. Thanks for the support it’s comforting
to hear others making it through the addiction.
Melatonin is a natural supplement so it
won't hurt you much but I've found it much more effective in small doses.
I noticed Melatonin will work a little if
you use it every once in a while, if you try and use it nightly or multiple
times a week it will not do anything.
For some reason I sleep better when I
combine Melatonin with Valerian if I need to reset my sleep schedule. I take
~1/3mg melatonin with 1 capsule Valarian (not extract), and I sleep very well
through the whole night. I often combine chamomile, catnip, and passionflower
with it to help fall asleep sooner.
Melatonin should not be taken every night,
only several nights in a row at the same time to get your circadian rhythm back
on track. If you take it too often for too long you can become physically
dependent on it.
Also CBD might help you, it helps regulate
your body's own cannabinoids, so it could help get your endocanabanoid system
back on track.
Someone suggested Kratom, but it is
addictive in its own right, so I'd be wary of that.
I've quit a strong habit including physical
addiction to noids twice. Both times it was far more difficult looking forward
to the detox and actually initiating it than the actual experience turned out
to be. In other words, I was miserable and I was sure it was going to be Hell
on earth to quit considering how dependent I was, but after the first day or
two of abstinence I immediately felt better. I could not sleep at night for
longer than 45 minutes to an hour DURING my addiction. I would wake up sweating
feeling nauseated until I hit the noids. During the day I was CONSTANTLY
multiple times an hour smoking noids. I was sick if I didn't dose up frequently
so naturally I expected the detox to get nasty. And don't get me wrong, it
sucked major balls. But it was pretty quick. Both times I didn't have an
appetite for the first couple days and it was difficult to sleep but I'm a
scrawny insomniac as it is so 3 days of little eating or sleeping isn't drastic
for me and it was very easy for me to endure it knowing that I was about to be
rid of that annoying noid habit so don't worry, I feel your pain but you're
already almost done with the wds and then you're home clear. Good luck.
Smoke regular weed, and get a healthier
lifestyle. The only things that saved me. Drink a ton of water but you will
feel like death incarnate for 3 weeks at least. Please stop.
Edit : get a hobby you can immerse
yourself, the only thing you can do is walk away. It destroyed me. Cooking was
my thing to get me way.
Edit: I was on it for 3 years and I was as
true slave to it. I’m now clean and doing pretty okay for a 22 year old who
started at 17.
Give you a little advice from someone who
overcame an 8 year addiction and is almost 2 years clean.
-Stop communicating with anyone who
supplied the product, people who use it and block any websites you can order
from. -Go for long walks, exercise, do physical activities that keeps your mind
busy. Work is good to get your mind off it. -Get some sleeping pills such as
Melatonin, Advil PM to help with sleep, the sleep is going to be hell the first
few weeks, I still have trouble getting quality sleep myself from all the
nodding and stimmy feelings.
WD's can last anywhere from a few days to a
week,2 when using noids, blends or liquids. The worst part is mentally, you
will be very paranoid, depressed, low, not interested in much you enjoy. The
worst things blends do to you in the long run is usually mental issues.
Don't be afraid to consume some liquor to
ease the pain if you are thinking about using, whiskey helped me sometimes when
quitting, but fighting it cold turkey and sober is what I did.
Be glad you quit. The long term mental
issues and heart problems are not something to fuck with. I know all about the
isolating and vaping, smoking, nodding. It's a nightmare.
You will feel a lot healthier soon and be
able to enjoy real life again! I am back to my normal self again but I know if
I even hit this stuff once I'd be completely fucked.
Good luck bro, hit me up if needed.
So far when shit gets too crazy symptoms
wise I have found sitting in the bathtub with the lights off and the shower on
full blast kind of helps me pass the time. I’m hoping I can get myself feeling
better by next Monday, but if I’m gonna be suffering like this for another week
or two after then so be it. I have no other option as I am sure if I keep up
this route shit it will start to cause some really serious issues sooner or
later as it is just too easy to keep doing this shut provided you have the
financial resources.
Status update- The first two days were pure
hell, then just discomfort and anxiety afterwards. I am starting to feel normal
and have a normal range of emotions and am feeling great. This stuff is not
worth it, and if you do choose to use attempt to use it in moderation if at all
possible. I know I most likely will not be able to use these chemicals in
moderation so I just have to avoid them.
I think I can safely say I kicked it and I
am super happy. Thanks for all the tips guys.
