Tips for quitting? Can't do this anymore
I'm addicted and it's ruining my life,
mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. No need to qualify
as I'm sure you guys know the story if you were addicted to a substance. Only
solution I have for not wanting to die or relapse now that I'm done is ordering
some kratom next week to help with mood shifts, depression, anxiety, etc,
however I have to survive until then and don't know how. Please please no
comments such as "just do it or man up". It's not that easy for someone
with an addictive mind they need solid specific steps and action. Willpower has
never worked for me. I know what DOESN'T work I just don't know what DOES. How
long did it take for you to start feeling better? What specific steps did you
take?
Tapering wasn't a possibility for me. I
just had to cold turkey. The first 3-5 days will be hell. After that the
gastrointestinal symptoms will lessen a lot. Sleep doesn't become easier until
like a week. 2 weeks you'll be fine. Dont go back.
long walks and music. Drink a coffee in the
morning, smoke one cigarette, have anothe coffee later, then another cigarette,
and then have 2 drinks at night. This will keep u totally busy until your
kratom. dont go wild on cigarettes or booze cuz then u wont be able to do it
the next day, sticking to 2 of each is good cuz then between those and the 2
coffees u have something to look foward to every 2 hours.
music on headphones helps walking go by
super easy and peacefully, try to hit 3 miles a day even if its just 1 mile at
a time. Itll keep the booze nicotine and caffine feeling fresh and brand new
every day.
Also. Psychological withdrawals were gone
after 72 hours. Body was mostly back to normal at the end of a week.
It varies for each person but you will feel
better. Just trust that. Kratom will definitely help you out as well. Till then
_Diligent has the best advice.
The best thing i found was to cut off from
the supplier. I found that once the supply was gone it forced the reality of
quitting. Its a rough few days, but i suggest trying to replace it with
something hard hitting and easy. Get drunk, do something else, (or if youre
subject to drug tests, which i infer you might be, try something like dxm,
phenibut, kratom) for a few days just to take your mind off of it. Id imagine You
wont get a ton of sleep the first couple nights, but try and supplement that
with melatonin. Trust me. You sound like someone who wants to quit. I was there
a little while back. After a weeks gone, you wont even have the urge to touch
the shit again. Its all physical and psychological. Once its all out of your
system, you wont want to chase that high again, no matter how good it was.
Like someone said before me, its not
advisable to replace one thing with another, but, i think an exception can be
made for noids. Id rather suggest you go cold turkey, but that would just make
me a hypocrite. I had to use a crutch to get over it. No shame in that. Believe
me. Starting on noids has been the worst decision ive ever made, and quitting
has been among the best.
It saddens me to see that people are
getting this hooked on noids. I've used many noids on and off for almost two
years and have built up quite a tolerance several times but never had
withdrawals for more than a couple of days. Whenever I need a t break I take a
few grams of kratom every few hours and it helps with the side effects but I've
never let myself get out of control with it either so maybe that's the
difference. At one point, my girlfriend and I were going through a 10ml bottle
of the "strongest one" that's popular right now every 3 days which
was quite a lot, but I know a guy who went through two bottles a day until he
quit only after getting arrested. These days I can make a bottle last about a
month.
But yeah, sorry about your struggle. I
would try a combo of kratom and actual cbd if available where you are and
benedryl for sleep aid but can assure you that the hardest part is getting
through the first day or so. You can do this!
Why use an opioid like kratom for quitting
noids? Noids are not opioids, not remotely related, and do not have the same
effect on the body in the slightest. The so-called "withdrawals" you
hear about from noids are the result of a mental dependence, as opposed to a
physical addiction like with opioids (or are just plain lies, like from that
British "documentary").
They have the same effects, and work in the
same way. You may have unpleasant psychosomatic symptoms when you stop (mostly
anxiety related, like shortness of breath, chest pains, dizziness, lack of
appetite, and irritability--none of which are life-threatening), but you will
NOT have opioid WD effects (fever, vomiting, flu-like symptoms, etc.). While
some people need medical help to stop opioids (tapering, or switching to
managed opioids), this is not true of noids--you will have the same experience
as somebody ending very heavy cannabis (weed) use--quitting "cold
turkey" is not dangerous. Using another drug (caffeine, ethanol, nicotine,
or kratom) to "help" is ill-advised, as you may simply switch one
dependence for another, or even create a physical addiction as ethanol
(alcohol) is notorious for.
My best advice is to stay busy at the times
you would be using noids--get exercise, talk on the phone, go shopping, take a
drive, see a movie--anything other than sitting around. Also be aware that it
can take up to two to three weeks for noids to leave your system completely.
Take it from me--I am very experienced with
noids (use and cessation)--you will get through this. I have also successfully
ended my dependence on ethanol and nicotine--anybody that suggests that you use
those for any reason is an idiot, and should not be trusted to give advice.
Unfortunately in this subreddit you will
find little facts, and loads of lies to support the negative opinions espoused
here, as well as tons of uninformed people all too willing to provide
misinformation.
Good luck with your recovery.
I’ve found using disso’s helps me kick just
about any habit. Meth, Weed, Opiates.. kinda like a cure all, cause after
you’re clean off noids getting off dissos is a cake walk.
Had a real bad meth habit, I didn’t even
notice withdrawal from a 200 mg a day habit with a combination of 2g’s of 2fdck
and 500mg 3-ho-pce.
Edit: I didn’t take all that at once, those
bags of RC’s lasted forever.
